Congratulations to Professor Chloë Kitzinger on the publication of her book, Mimetic Lives: Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, and Character in the Novel, with Northwestern University Press!
The Department is happy to announce that Professor Chloë Kitzinger has been selected as a recipient of the 2019-2020 School of Arts and Sciences Award for Distinguished Contributions to Undergraduate Education at the Assistant Professor rank. Our colleague in the German Program, Professor Alexander Pichugin was also selected as a winner in the Assistant Teaching Professor category. Sam Vladimirsky graduated from SAS in 2019, and completed an Interdisciplinary Senior Honors Thesis under the direction of Prof. Emily Van Buskirk (Russian) and Prof. Andres Zervigon (Art History). His thesis was titled "Second-Hand Vision: Postmemory and Photographic Play."

Russian major Mikaela Peters is studying abroad in this year in Kyrgystan, and received a scholarship from SRAS (School of Russian and Asian Studies) to write about her experiences there.
